The "Corvette Servo" kit is relatively cheap and the guys at (OPT) Oregon Performance Transmissions ( Oregon Performance Transmission - High Performance Tranmission Parts - Free Shipping) have the kit at $18.99. This is an easy modification to do and the improvement in shift quality is miraculous. if you have any questions send me an email. You may not need the extra servo but I haul our 6500 lb church trailer on occasion so the extra servo is worth it for me. no more sort of half slipping half engaged. With the extra servo kit you will feel a positive lockup and the converter stays fully locked until it is released. You aren't going to get any neck snapping slam shifting but you will get a marked quickness and firmness in the shifts. Oh, how does it run? Like it should've when it left the factory.

So for about $100 you get some parts that will really bring a smile to your face when you're done this project has a high bang for the buck quotient. This is a custom made servo piston and cover made of billet aluminum the pieces are high quality with an improved piston seal and a different spring. My truck also suffered from what's known as a "slide bump" first second shift the tranny begins its shift and sort of hangs in limbo. I have read about the Torque Management system that's integral to the engine control computer that basically hamstrings the engine during various phases of driving and during transmission upshifts. I have to wonder if the design engineers didn't have some marketing mantra to design their full-size trucks to shift and ride like some ultra-cushy kind of limo. Once installed, the Corvette servo will give you a MUCH FIRMER 2nd and 3rd gear shift. I've ridden in Caddy's that have a more robust shift than the 4L60E in my truck. Please make sure your transmission is either the TH700 or 4L60E type. But one of the things I just couldn't stand was the truly wimpy way the thing shifts gears.
